Upcoming Board Elections and Annual Meeting for Association Members:

 

The Board Elections will be held on Wednesday, April 9th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Annual Meeting held at Riverside Arena. Members need to vote in person and cannot vote by proxy or absentee vote per By-Laws.

 

If you are interested in joining the board, please fill out and turn in your Board Application by Sunday, March 30th at midnight via electronic form. The application can be found here. 

 

On our website you will see a list of open positions, the incumbent, and a job description for the positions that are up for election or appointment.

 

Positions up for Election Spring 2025 (incumbent is planning to rerun for election and is listed below)

  • Secretary: Michelle Bumgardner (incumbent)
  • Concession Manager: Mandy DeVriendt (incumbent)
  • District 9 Representative: Zach Tolman (incumbent)
  • Coaches Coordinator: Brent Kiker (incumbent)
  • Tournament Director
  • Public Relations Director

AYH Board Member Expectations

  • Capable of a 2-year commitment to managing the assigned affairs of AYH.
  • Ability to attend all board-related meetings, serve on assigned committees, and oversee assigned programs and coordinators.
  • Commitment to adhering to the AYH Code of Conduct and uphold the highest level of integrity and confidentiality for AYH.
  • Commitment to fulfilling any critical volunteer hours (DIBS) as needed.

District 9 MN Futures

You are invited to participate in the Minnesota Hockey Futures Development Program, an incredible opportunity to develop skills, improve your game, and train hard in your off-season.  All sessions take place in your local District!

This program follows the Minnesota and USA Hockey American Development Model and is led by MN Hockey coaches trained in elite skill development protocols. Spots are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, so don’t wait to sign up!

Who Can Participate?

  • 15U Program: 2010 & 2011 birth years (Boys and Girls)
  • 13U Program: 2012 & 2013 birth years (Boys and Girls)

What’s Included?

13 hours of on-ice development
3v3 Jamboree – Cross-ice games against other Districts (1-day event)
5v5 Festival Games – Full-ice games vs. other Districts (1-day event)
Program Uniform – Jersey, socks, and hat

The program begins after the Youth State Tournaments and concludes with a 5v5 event. Some Districts may combine ice times and skill sessions for boys and girls or mix 15U and 13U players.

Multi-Sport Friendly!

We encourage athletes to participate in other spring sports and understand they may miss some ice sessions—player development remains the priority!

CCM High Performance Teams

The 2025 CCM Minnesota Hockey High Performance try outs are approaching. This program offers opportunities for Minnesota’s finest hockey players to progress to a national event and showcase their talent and skills. Players (including High School players) in District 9, Mankato, Waseca, Faribault, Northfield, Owatonna, Albert Lea, Austin, Dodge County, Rochester, Winona, Minnesota River & La Crescent that were born in 2010 and 2011 are eligible to try-out in District 9.  For additional information, see the links below.

Gamesheet Inc

New and returning hockey families, click the GS Logo on the left to familiarize yourself with Gamesheet scoring.  This will be used on all district games and during tournaments.

February Board Meeting

The February board meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 12th at 6:00pm at Riverside Arena.

Association Colors

Use the following guidelines when purchasing new equipment.

Required 

  • Breezers: Red 
  • Gloves: Red 
  • Helmet: White 
  • Neck Guard is required
  • Socks- Red with white stripe for away games  
    • White with red stripe for home games.  
    • All traveling players needing new/additional socks, can purchase them at South Central.
